Food waste streams
Our PLA (Poly Lactose Acid), or lactic acid, is made from potato peel waste. Using a biodegradable waste stream from the food industry eliminates the need for regular plastic.
Miscanthus Giganteus
When the plant is discarded, the sticks often end up in the trash. This ensures that most of the waste has to be burned!
To make the compostability in the waste disposal even better, we use homegrown Miscanthus Giganthus. As much as 20,000 pounds of CO2 are reduced per hectare.
